Norton's Theorem Explained - DC Circuit Analysis
In this video, I explained Norton's Theorem, one of the circuit analysis methods. We will learn how to analyze the circuit with this theorem through examples. As you can see here, transforming a circuit into a current source and a resistor parallel to it is known as Norton's Theorem. So let's try to learn how to convert a circuit into IN Norton current and RN Norton equivalent resistance format.

    Thank you for your efforts making this video. If I'm not mistaken, and as I understand the explanations later in the video, at 0:33 seconds, the Cathode of the zener should be connected to the positive voltage potential. I believe this makes use of the specific reververse brakedown characteristic of zeners.

And then suddenly showing the Circuit as it ever been explained in the videos. This video is a big help, I love it!

    At the two minute mark why is a resistor required in the circuit. If the input to the diode is 5 V, then why not just connect the diode directly to the output of the voltage regulator?

    In a simple circuit with a battery+ resistor+led,the led acts as a resistor and + the first resistor,it becomes a voltage divider,right?! So in that circuit the current is the same as the battery,only the voltage drops,right?! Is my understanding correct?

    • @kuro758
      @kuro758 Місяць тому

      No, there are many things incorrect in your understanding. -A resistor is used in series with LED to limit the current flowing through the LED. LEDs cannot handle lot of current and they will fry if the current is not limited. -Remember V=IR. This means if the voltage drops, and the resistor does not change, then the current has to drop. So this resistor not only drops the voltage but limits the current, which is its main purpose. -An LED does not act as a resistor. In some cases it is used as a diode but don't worry about it for now. -A voltage divider is a bit different than anything shown in this video, and I suggest you understand voltage, current & resistors before learning about voltage divider, it will make it easier.
